New reports suggest Samsung will soon roll out Iron Man-themed versions of its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge smartphones.
According to a report on The Korea Times, the special edition Iron Man-themed smartphones will be launched as early as this month.
“The color of the new Iron Man phones will be red. We will decide on other details so on after discussions with Marvel Studio. It will be released either at the end of May or early June,” said Lee Young-hee, head of marketing for the company’s mobile division.
As per the report, the new phones will reflect design aspects of Iron Man’s armored suit. The sequel to 2012’s The Avengers, dubbed Avengers: Age of Ultron is the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr, is a main character in the Marvel universe.
The announcement comes as a result of a global marketing partnership between Samsung and Marvel announced in June last year. The strategic collaboration between the two companies is mostly designed to integrate innovative Samsung technologies and products into the Marvel film.
The Korean giant’s products including its tablet PC and the S6 Edge are prominently displayed in the new Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. There may also be Marvel-themed “wallpaper, home screen icons and ring tones” likely available to most Samsung devices.
