Early adopters of Galaxy Note 4 have noticed a gap between the casing and the screen, and have even complained it to be a manufacturing flaw. However, it actually seems to be a “necessary manufacturing feature.”
Samsung has explained the gap in the accompanying user manual that reads, “A small gap appears around the outside of the device case… This gap is a necessary manufacturing feature and some minor rocking or vibration of parts may occur… Over time, friction between parts may cause this gap to expand slightly.”
It seems the explanation does not cut ice. Some users have even said that they don’t see a gap at all. Further, when the issue first cropped out, Samsung said it was looking into it, but later backtracked calling it a necessary feature. Samsung is yet to come out with a more plausible and convincing explanation.
Galaxy Note 4, officially launched on September 26 in Korea, is slated for release in the UK on October 10. In the US, the Note 4 is already available on pre-orders through AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, where too the Note will be launched in October. It is expected that Samsung will be explaining the gap feature more elaborately.
