Following the early launch in South Korea, Samsung Galaxy S5 is now available in the US, ahead of the official launch, according to the recent reports.
Around eight third-party sellers have listed the new flagship smartphone for sale on Amazon.
WELelectronics, one of the largest retailers in the US, is offering the Samsung Galaxy S5 in choice of black, white, blue, and gold for $799.99.
All the eight sellers on Amazon have listed the latest Galaxy S5 smartphone with prices starting at $794 up to $825 plus tax, with most offering 1-2 business days shipping time.
Samsung previously announced that the new flagship device – Galaxy S5 will hit market shelves in around 150 countries not before April 11.
Last week, three wireless carriers, SK Telecom, KT and LG U+ in South Korea began selling the smartphone, in an effort to promote purchases before an upcoming sales ban. The networks have been hit with a smartphone sales ban preventing them to sign new customers for a period of 45 days that coincides with the planned Galaxy S5 launch.
SK Telecom released the Galaxy S5 in South Korea on March 27, much to Samsung’s dismay. “We decided to release the product for a wider consumer choice of handsets before our operation suspension begins on April 5,” the carrier said in a statement.
Samsung in response confirmed “The official global launch date of the Galaxy S5 is April 11, as previously announced.” The company added that the mobile carriers were provided with only a limited number of units for marketing and pre-sales activities.
