Samsung Galaxy S5 will be released in two different models based on display resolution – a new leak from Korea has claimed.
Samsung first announced its Unpacked 5 event earlier this month following which it teased a possible revamped TouchWiz UI that hinted at quite a few new features including Speed, Outdoor, Fun, Style, Social, Privacy and Fitness.
The latest leak from Korea is purportedly directly from the production lines where the alleged displays of the Galaxy S5 are being manufactured. According to the leak, Samsung will be releasing two different models and that two at different times, with unveil of both models slated for MWC 2014.
The first Galaxy S5 to make it to shelves will be standard full HD 1080p display handset that will go on sale in March. The second premium Galaxy S5 will boast of a superior QHD (2,560 x 1,440) display with 560ppi to be available sometime later in the year. The reason for two different release timelines is because of lower than expected production yield levels.
The report also claims that Galaxy S5 models will feature “diamond” pixel structure that maximises sub-pixel packing to achieve the highest possible ppi.
