Recent reports suggest Samsung’s ‘Limited Edition Concept Device’ Galaxy Note Edge is finally making its way to the UK.
Previously, there were rumours that feared that Samsung had no plans of launching Galaxy Note Edge in the UK any time soon. But now Vodafone has confirmed it is offering the alleged device and has added the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge to its ‘coming soon’ page.
At present, the smartphone is only available in select Asian markets including Japan and Korea. The handset is scheduled for a US launch this Friday, November 14.
According to a report on SamMobile, Samsung will roll out its Galaxy Note Edge in the U.K. as well as in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Italy, Kazakhstan,Luxembourg, Nepal, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
Powered by a quad-core 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch Quad-HD+ (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM, 32 and 64GB internal
storage configurations (expandable via microSD card) as well as a 3,000mAh battery. There’s a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with Smart OIS, and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/1.9 lens on board.
The Android 4.4 KitKat-running handset will be available in 4G LTE and 4G LTE Cat 6 (LTE Advanced) variants. Connectivity options of the Galaxy Note Edge include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS/ Glonass, NFC,
Bluetooth v 4., IR LED, USB 2.0, and MHL 3.0.
The most notable Galaxy Note Edge feature is its curved display which wraps around the right-hand edge of the handset and allows for quick access to frequently-used apps, alerts and device functionality – even when the cover is closed or the screen is locked.
Although Samsung is yet to disclose Galaxy Note Edge’s UK pricing and availability details, a few online retailers including Clove and MobiCity have already listed the device for pre-orders at around £650 off-contract price.
