According to reports from the Korean media, Samsung might announce its new curved display smartphone codenamed Galaxy Round as soon as this week beating its rival LG with a good punch.
If reports are true, Samsung’s curved smartphone will be the first commercial phone to be made with plastic instead of glass substrate making the smartphone’s panel much more durable and cheaper too. It is rumoured that Galaxy Round will pack more or less the same specifications as of Galaxy Note 3; however, no pricing information has been reported.
Rumors suggest that the new Galaxy Round might be offered at a high price and that too in limited quantities. There is even a possibility of the curved display smart phone coming with a lower price tag if it does not support Samsung’s S-Pen functionality. If the Korean report proves to be true, then we might witness the official launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Round very soon.
Reports also indicate that Samsung is working on a Galaxy Note 3 variant that will feature a plastic display, but details are very vague as of now. The latest report is seemingly talking about a flexible display smartphone and not a curved display. If that is the case then Samsung would be the first company to officially launch such a smartphone.
Just last week LG announced its plans to launch a curved display smartphone in November following Samsung’s confirmation that it was planning a curved display smartphone launch in October.
