Samsung on Monday announced the launch of four new affordable smartphones dubbed the Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Ace 4 and Galaxy Young 2.
The new smartphones will run Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with company’s own TouchWiz Essence interface on top; Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Star 2, and Galaxy Young 2 will support dual-SIM, while the Galaxy Ace 4 will be a single SIM device to come in 3G and LTE variants.
The most powerful of the four, the Samsung Galaxy Core II, will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and will feature a 4.5-inch WVGA TFT display. The Galaxy Core successor also packs 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card, and 2000mAh battery. The smartphone will be made available in Black and White colour variants.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 4, to come in LTE and 3G variants, will feature 4-inch WVGA TFT display, a 5-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera. While the LTE variant will pack 1GB of RAM, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1800mAh battery, the 3G variant will feature 512MB of RAM, 1GHz dual-core processor and 1500mAh battery. Both the variants will be available in Iris Charcoal and Classic White colors.
The Galaxy Young 2 will feature a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT display, a 1GHz single-core processor clubbed with 512MB of RAM, a 3-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera, a 1300mAh battery and 4GB of internal storage further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
Last in the list is the Samsung Galaxy Star 2 which will come with a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a single-core Spreadtrum SC6815A clocked at 1GHz alongside 512MB of RAM, a 2-megapixel fixed focus rear camera, a 1300mAh battery and 4GB of inbuilt storage further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
Both Star 2 and Young 2 will offer eight downloadable Gameloft games for users.
