Rockstar has apologized for the troubled launch of GTA Online after users started reporting of connectivity and server issues leading to random disconnects.
Rockstar has been preparing for a trouble-free launch of GTA Online since about two weeks as it anticipated a barrage of players willing to try their hands on the online version of the game. According to some analyst, as many as 15 million units of GTA V were sold between the launch of the console version and the online version.
According to reports shortly after GTA Online was launched, users started experiencing server issues because of which the either game failed to load or players were disconnected. Rockstar has put up a support page dedicated to known issues and is providing updates to users on the progress made to resolve them.
“We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this,” Rockstar notes on the support site.
The company will be providing regular updates on the status of the fix. But users can sign up via email to receive the updates automatically. Some of the known issues include “Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable” error message; “Failed to Host a GTA Online Session” error messages; and “Timed out when matchmaking for a compatible GTA Online Session to join” error messages among others.
The last update on the support site notes that the company is closely monitoring “Support systems, forums, social media, and in-game data to measure traffic along with Community sentiment to ensure ongoing improvements to stability.”
