Rockstar has acknowledge that GTA Online is now suffering on issues wherein players’ characters, in-game money, items, apartments and ranking are being lost without any plausible reasons – possibly because of another glitch.
GTA V may be one of the top 12 biggest games of all time in the UK and it may be one of the most top grossing games of all times and it may have sold more copies than predecessor GTA 4 sold till date, but GTA Online continues to frustrate and annoy players a week after its official launch. Rockstar released title updates for Xbox 360 and PS3 fixing almost all common issues faced by gamers on both the platforms.
However, users are now reporting that their in-game characters are being deleted without warnings and in their in-game money and items are disappearing without any plausible reason.
On one of its support pages, Rockstar notes, “We have received reports from some players who experienced losing characters, progress, items, and/or in-game cash during the first few days after release.”
The GTA Online maker assured that it was “working diligently to identify and correct the causes for these losses,” and working on establishing the best method in which it can restore the “lost progress and value.”
Rockstar has provided a couple of tips so that other users don’t end up accidentally losing their game progress. The developer notes that users, when exiting GTA Online, should press pause before returning to single player mode as that would force the progress to be saved. Rockstar warns that if users exit the game without pressing pause, there is no guarantee that the game progress and the money earned and items purchased during the game play will be saved.
In case users get a message that “Rockstar Cloud Servers are unavailable” they shouldn’t select “Retry” option, but instead exit to Story Mode and re-enter the online play using the pause menu. This is because if users chose “Retry” option their online character may be lost.
