Fiat is all set to announce a refreshed version of its famous 500 model on the first day of the Geneva Motor show.
The new Fiat 500 will pack a new engine in the form of Twin Air 105hp engine which offers more power than the old with an official combined fuel efficiency of 67mpg and CO2 emission of just 99g/km.
To balance out fuel economy and performance, Fiat has used a high-efficiency turbocharger alongside a new intake valve control system and an exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head. On top of the engine choice, Fiat is also offering start/stop fuel saving system as well as a six speed manual gearbox.
In terms of the internal enhancements, Fiat 500 packs 7-inch TFT display with integrated media player function, telephone information and Tom-tom 2 live SatNav system.
The new 500 will come in two new body colours: retro green and the new three layers white.
Fiat has given equal importance to safety and the new Fiat 500 features ABS with EBD, and seven airbags. ISOFIX attachments and daytime running lights have also been made available.
Fiat will also be showing off a special edition dubbed the 500 Cult that features 16-inch alloy wheels, glossy black roof panel, door mirror covers, chrome exterior, and the leather seat having colour choices of black, tobacco or red.
The new limited edition is available with the new different range of engine like the 69hp 1.2-litre petrol, the 85hp 0.9 Twin Air Turbo Petrol (both also available with the Dualogic gearbox), the 95hp 1.3 MultiJet II Turbo Diesel and the new 105hp 0.9 Twin Air Turbo Petrol.
The new Fiat 500 will go on road in UK by the end of April 2014 with the pricing to be announced closer to the car’s launch.
