Colourful handsets seem to have gotten onto every vendor’s agenda and recent leaks and rumours point to a possibility of Red Nexus 5’s eminent launch on February 4.
At first there were only reports without visual evidence of a Red Nexus 5. That changed as a couple of press renders found their way onto the web, which were followed by leaks of multiple images. This reinforced the belief that Google may have a Red Nexus 5 under wraps and it would launch it just like it launched the original two Nexus 5s earlier – rather quietly without much showoff.
According to a recent leak of a particular internal document from Sprint, the Red Nexus 5 will hit Google Play Store on February 4. The Nexus 5 is compatible with three networks in the US and it won’t be wrong to assume that if February 4 was the launch date, the operators may have started briefing its staff members on the details of the smartphone.
The title of the leaked document reads “2/4/14: Google Nexus 5 in red available in Google Play stores”. According to the text in the leaked document, Sprint is seemingly trying to remind its employees that customers are to be provided with necessary UICC SIM cards that will work with Red Nexus 5 at no extra cost. The language in the document indicates that Sprint isn’t likely to stock the Red Nexus 5.
