Bandai Namco has confirmed that Project Cars has been delayed and the game will now be released in March 2015 instead of November 18 this year.
No specific date has been announced yet, but a release of ‘sometime in March 2015’ is likely to happen as Slight Mad Studio head Ian Bell claims it to be a tough decision.
Bell said that the delay in release will provide the game with “the greatest chance of success and visibility,” and will allow developers to “polish the game even further to the high standards that both ourselves and our community demand and expect.”
It is not known whether the decision was because of pressure from Bandai Namco or internally from Slight Mad Studio; however, there have been reports that the change in the date might not be entirely due to issues with code of the game but the decision could very well be because of other major releases in November.
The additional time will also give developers the time to further polish the Wii U version of the game, which was already delayed. We believe that Wii U version might not be released alongside the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC version and it should pan out after that.
