Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note series variant dubbed the Galaxy Note Edge is currently available for pre-order in the United Kingdom.
UK’s online retailer Clove has listed the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with a hefty price tag of £650 with Value Added Tax (VAT) included. The same has been listed for £541.67 excluding VAT.
Clove’s Note Edge pre-orders page shows off the handset in Charcoal Black and White Frost editions offering 32GB built-in storage with the same price tag of £650.
The retailer has however added a note to the page, which reads official price and availability of the smartphone is yet to be confirmed. Interested Note Edge buyers have been requested to leave their name and email address with the retailer to get notified about the Galaxy Note Edge availability in future.
As claimed by Samsung, the new Galaxy Note Edge will be a ‘limited edition concept’ and also, the “technology-intensive” device will be rolled out slowly with different release dates for different countries. The smartphone maker plans to sell 1 million Galaxy Note Edge units by the end of the year.
Powered by a quad-core 2.7GHz processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch Quad-HD+ (1440+160 x 2560 pixel) Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM, 32 and 64GB internal storage configurations (expandable via microSD card) as well as a 3,000mAh battery. There’s a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with Smart OIS, and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/1.9 lens on board.
The Android 4.4 KitKat-running handset will be available in 4G LTE and 4G LTE Cat 6 (LTE Advanced) variants. Connectivity options of the Galaxy Note Edge include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ b/ g/ n/ ac, GPS/ Glonass, NFC, Bluetooth v 4., IR LED, USB 2.0, and MHL 3.0.
The most notable Galaxy Note Edge feature is its curved display, which will allow the users to see notifications without touching the phablet.
