Porsche is expected to unveil its 2015 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS at the LA Auto Show this year, which is starting November 20 and if rumours are to be believed, the unveil will make the introduction of 992 chassis code as well.
According to Motor Trend’s Jonny Lieberman, the German car manufacturer is about to surprise everyone at the auto show with the introduction of the 992 code. “Hot Porsche Scoop: we’ll see the 911 GTS at the LA Show. But the chassis code will be 992, not 991” he tweeted.
The update to the car itself isn’t something out of the way considering that it follows Porsche’s typical mid-cycle revamp at a 4-year interval. We are expecting a few minor model updates including all-new turbocharged flat four(s) at the rear of the 911.
Further, we are also expecting special editions of GTS and the GT3 RS, but the biggest change would be the introduction of 992 chassis code – something that is totally new and details about which are really sparse as of now.
If we look back at the 911 GTS, the update will see a modification by inclusion of all-wheel drive and one easy way to recognize the car will be through its distinct exhaust note.
On a visual note, GTS’ front and rear fenders may be further widened and are expected to feature specific front and rear aprons.
