Gamers in the EU including the UK will have to wait for at least a year before they get to try their hands-on with Sony’s recently announced PlayStation Now game streaming service, new leaked internal documents reveal.
According to an internal presentation obtained by Eurogamer, PlayStation Now will be launched in US and Canada during Q2 of 2014 as already revealed by Sony. The PlayStation 4 maker isn’t limiting the service to Bravia TV sets or PlayStation consoles only and the presentation notes that partner devices will be able to stream the games as well.
Near the end of 2014 or very early 2015, PlayStation Now will be launched in Japan and South Korea with EU launch slated for early 2015. “Europe has the longest wait of all, with PlayStation Now set to arrive in the first quarter of 2015 according to our sources”, notes Eurogamer.
PlayStation Now can be seen as Sony’s way of resolving the backward compatibility issue by bringing its vast library of PlayStation and PSP games to the cloud that can then be streamed and played on any compatible device.
