A picture of Samsung’s upcoming Windows Phone handset, the SM-W750V, codenamed ‘Huron’ has been leaked online.
According to @evleaks, Samsung’s new Windows phone ‘Huron’, also known as SM-W750V, will be powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and will possibly see a release around the same time as Nokia Lumia ICON. The leaked photo shows a device which strongly resembles the Galaxy S4, but lacks the camera button on the side.
The mid-range Windows Phone-powered smartphone is expected to be powered by quad-core CPU with a Qualcomm Adreno 305 GPU, a combination that powers most of Nokia’s low-end Lumias. According to some reports, the screen resolution of the device is said to be 720 x 1,280 pixels; however, others point at a possible full HD 1,920 x 1,080p display.
Earlier in January it was revealed that Microsoft paid over $2 billion to leading handset makers including Samsung, Huawei, and Sony to launch Windows Phone handsets this year. The rumour was later debunked by Frank X. Shaw, Microsoft’s communications lead.
If the rumors of Samsung SM-W750V Huron are real, it would be the first Windows Phone 8 device in the recent past made by a major manufacturer other than Nokia.
