PayPal’s payments app has finally made its way to the Pebble smartwatch allowing users to pay at stores and restaurants accepting PayPal payments.
Pebblers can pay for purchases using either check-in to pay option or pay with payment code option directly from the PayPal app in the Pebble smartwatch, without using a smartphone. In addition, PayPal is now included as a payment option on the official Pebble’s website – getpebble.com.
With check-in to pay option, customers will be able to pay by just checking into the store or restaurant through the app, while a payment code will be generated to check out in the second option. Users will also receive notifications related to payments from the PayPal app.

The new app for Pebblers comes after the launch of PayPal app for Android Wear smartwatches including Samsung’s Gear 2, Gear S and Gear Fit, making PayPal available on all the wearable platforms.
Joel Yarbrough, senior director of partnerships and global solutions at PayPal, said in a blogpost, that PayPal is working to make shopping easy and seamless for customers so that they are just “one step closer to walking into a store and being able to place an order and pay without ever reaching into pocket.”
The PayPal app for Pebble comes in time with the release of Apple WatchKit SDK that allows developers to come up with applications for the upcoming device. However, the previous rumours of PayPal and Apple partnership, has come to a halt with the deal between Samsung and PayPal that allows users to make payments with the Galaxy S5’s fingerprint sensor.
The official PayPal app for Pebble smartwatch is available for download on the Pebble app store.
