A new study by Ofcom reveals that consumers in the UK enjoy the cheapest mobile phone and communication service deals as compared to their European counterparts.
As compared to UK, consumers in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and US are taking advantage of cheaper landline, mobile phone and broadband deals. The conclusion was arrived at after Ofcom created five household profiles starting with a low use household with the most basic need right through to an affluent household that uses a lot of communications service.
The best deals within each of the countries were then mapped to the needs of a household. “The UK emerged as either the cheapest or second cheapest in four out of five of the profiles”, notes Ofcom.
European countries Italy, France, Germany and Spain took up the remaining of the top five positions, while US managed to rank in at sixth.
However, this is not the case with other services as Premium television subscriptions in the UK were twice as expensive at £66 in the UK as compared to those in Germany at £27, Ofcom revealed.
