Nokia may reveal its first-ever Android running smartphone dubbed Nokia X aka Nokia Normandy at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, but not a day passes by when we don’t see a fresh leak and today we have with us a set of photos showcasing the smartphone’s UI in full glory.
Thanks to leakers from China, we can see the alleged Nokia X and its degoogleised Android UI that matches Windows Phone live tile interface. Some of the tiles visible in the photos include Nokia HERE, Nokia Store and other standard options for phone, messaging, people, gallery, calendar among others.
The app store isn’t likely to be from Google and according to reports the Nokia store will have apps initially developed by Nokia developers based out of India while the remaining apps will be developed by third party developers as and when the SDK is released.
There are a couple of other snapshots that have been leaked as well and from the looks of it Nokia X doesn’t pack a LED flash making the smartphone more or less equivalent to its Asha counterparts. The side-profile photo shows the volume buttons and possibly a physical button for either locking the phone or activating the camera.
According to previous reports and a recent Vietnamese retailer listing Nokia X will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat and will be powered by 1GHz dual core processor, and 512MB RAM. It is also rumoured that the handset will have 4GB internal storage, a microSD card slot for increased external storage, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 5-megapixel rear camera.
The 5-megapixel rear camera was confirmed recently after an photo was leaked online which was allegedly captured using Nokia X’s camera.
