Nokia, in order to boost its Lumia smart phone sales in the UK, is offering a free Netflix subscription to new buyers.
The Finnish handset maker has confirmed that those buyers opting for Lumia 625 or 925 on Vodafone will get a six months free Netflix subscription, whereas those opting for the Lumia 1020 will get a twelve months free Netflix subscription. This offer will remain valid until 31 December, while buyers can claim their Netflix membership subscription until 31 January 2014.
The offer comes right in time for the holiday season and Nokia is trying to do every bit possible to push its Lumia lineup. Phones4U is also offering six months Netflix subscription with the Nokia Lumia 625, the Nokia Lumia 925 and the Nokia Lumia 1020.
Netflix entered into a similar deal with Google for its Chromecast dongle. Three months of free Netflix subscription was offered to the buyers, but Google ceased to offer the promotion soon as Chromecast proved very popular among the users.
This deal with Netflix could be Nokia’s last effort to push up its sales and profits independently before its acquisition by Microsoft which is going to take place next year.
