Nokia has made available its ‘shoot now, focus later’ app – Nokia Refocus – for all Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8, the company has announced today.
Initially only available to PureView-branded smartphones, the app is now compatible with all Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8, including those which don’t have a high-end camera module.
“As we have seen with the great imaging apps like Nokia Camera before, lots of people have been asking for it and we responded”, said Jens Eggert, Nokia’s Lead Program Manager for Refocus.
“You spoke, we listened. Now anyone that owns a Lumia can enjoy the power and creativity of Nokia Refocus.”
Those who are not aware about the working of Nokia Refocus, here is a little primer. You are required to hold the phone steady for a couple of seconds and during that Nokia Refocus will scan the scene ahead with different focal lengths and then combine them into a single dynamic image. Once done, you can then adjust the focus and background/foreground blur later even after the file has been saved and shared.
