Nintendo 2DS enjoyed brisk sales last week in the UK and managed to become the top-selling gaming console.
The surge in sales is a direct result of the £10 price cut the Nintendo 2DS received in the last week of October taking the price below the £100 mark with some retailers even throwing in a couple of games for free.
According to MCV, 3DS sales shot up by as much as 64 percent week-on-week and managed to top the charts of best-selling consoles in the UK. The sales figures of 2DS don’t include the sales numbers for the 3DS and 3DS XL.
Just a couple of days back Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata acknowledged that Nintendo is “yet to create sufficient awareness” and that the company will strive to “achieve higher awareness without causing misunderstandings” going forward.
