Google is finally bidding goodbye to its mid-range Nexus 7 tablet with the company delisting the product. Google has already stopped manufacturing the 7 inch tablet.
The tablet’s own product page on the Google Store now states that the tablet is “no longer available for purchase”. The Asus-made tablet was launched in July 2013 and remained attractive because Google kept it up-to-date with the latest Android versions. The device was rated as one of the best Google tablets in the market.
The 7-inch Nexus tablet sports a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor. It has 2GB of RAM and is available in 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants. There is a 5 MP primary camera and 1.2 MP front-facing camera. It comes with host of connectivity features and is packed with a huge battery of 3950 mAh capacity. Nexus 7 was also upgraded to the Android 5.0 Lollipop last year which had brought many features like multiple device compatibility, material design, battery settings etc.
The discontinuation of the Nexus 7 doesn’t come as a surprise as last month that the search giant also killed off the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 10 devices. The Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 are currently the only mobile devices available from Google.
Those who are still looking for a Nexus 7 can get one from third-party retailers like Amazon and eBay before its too late.
