Wind Mobile has started taking pre-registrations for Google’s upcoming flagship smartphone – the Nexus 5 – and has also confirmed the specifications of the highly awaited smartphone.
The Nexus 5 pre-registration page went up on Canadian carrier Wind Mobile’s Facebook page allowing all those interested Nexus 5 fans can get on the list to get notified as and when the smartphone is up for grabs. Along with the pre-reg form, one can also find specifications of the Nexus 5 that confirm almost all the major features of the smartphone.
The Nexus 5 will be powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz complemented by 2GB RAM. The Nexus 5 will feature a 4.95-inch 1,920 × 1,080 full HD display at 445 ppi protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 8-megapixel rear OIS camera and a 1.3-megapixel front shooter, Android 4.4 KitKat, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 16GB or 32GB storage, microUSB, SlimPort enabled, 3.5mm stereo audio jack, Dual microphones, Ceramic power and volume buttons.
There is no information about the battery though, but rumours and recent leaks indicate that Nexus 5 will have a 2300mAh battery that should power it for atleast 8-10 hours on a single charge with moderate to high usage.
Another photo leak showing pallets of Nexus 5 at an LG distribution centre confirms that Canada is indeed on the list of the first countries to receive the Nexus 5. According to reports Carphone Warehouse in the UK has also got shipments of the Nexus 5 and awaiting a go ahead from Google.
