The Porsche Panamera has not, in mine and many others opinions, looked right since the day it was first revealed in the flesh. It looks like it is an elongated Porsche 911, like an aftermarket limousine conversion. Not a pretty sight.
In true Porsche style, the company has decided to change very little for the 2014 version of the Panamera. The Porsche 911 has looked exactly the same for the past 50 years, so we would be foolish to expect any radical changes to the Panamera.
There is however one significant change that has been made to the car if you opt for the so called, Executive package. This adds a full 6 inches to the wheel base of the standard car resulting in a further 5 inches of leg room within the car. This bigger Porsche sits very firmly in limousine territory.
The engine has also been beefed up by a further 10 bhp so that it now produces 440bhp with an even more impressive sound coming from the normally aspirated 4.8 litre V8 engine. The top of the range Turbo version boasts 20 more horse power at a massive 520bhp.
If you are lucky enough to be in the market for a car that has your peak capped driver in front of the wheel, the new Executive Panamera is now a very much an option. Who would not want a Porsche limousine?
If you drive it yourself and want a Porsche that can fit in the family, then it is probably best to stick with the original wheelbase option as the Executive model looks even more like a 911 stretched by your local limousine company.
