Hyundai has set a starting price of £10,695 OTR for its new i20, which will be going on sale in January next year.
Hyundai is bringing a lot to the tablet with its new i20 – new design, ‘generous levels’ of equipment and quite a few segment firsts – including a full panoramic sunroof. The new i20 will be available in five trim levels.
Shelling out £10,695 will buy you an entry level i20 S featuring 74bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine, electric front windows, remote central locking, tinted windows and RDS radio with USB as standard. A level-up to this model is the i20 S Air that features additional Manual Air Conditioning with everything else being the same as the i20 S.
There is a more economical S Blue variant that brings with it Intelligent Stop and Go (ISG) and low rolling resistance tyres and 1.1-litre CRDi 75ps diesel engine.
Those looking to spend £12,725 can go for the i20 SE model that features 16″ alloy wheels, voice activated Bluetooth, Cruise Control with speed limiter, front fog lights, Lane Departure Warning System, rear electric windows and reversing sensors.
Hyundai is providing four differing choices in terms of power for i20 SE – 1.2 litre 84ps or 1.4-litre 100ps petrol engines or 1.1-litre 75ps or 1.4-litre 90ps diesel engines.
Finally the top model of premium range of the new i20 will set you back by as much as £14,725. Featuring ‘high-end features’ like front parking sensors, heated front seats and steering wheel, opening panoramic glass sunroof, Smartphone Docking Station, automatic dimming rear view mirror, automatic headlights and wipers, Climate control, cornering lights, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, projection headlamps and privacy glass the Premium SE is the top end model of the new i20.
There is a Premium variant as well that costs £13,725, but it has comparatively lesser features than the Premium SE. Both the Premium variants share the same powertrains with the SE models sans the 1.1-litre 75ps diesel, which is not offered in the higher trims.
Pricing of the new i20 supermini range is £700 higher than Ford Fiesta’s base Studio model; however, it undercuts the £11,250 entry version of the Volkswagen Polo.
