While rumours about Apple’s iPhone 6 are surfacing everyday with the presumed launch to be just weeks away, the Cupertino’s suppliers have already started making new gen iPads, according to a new report.
Bloomberg, citing 2 unnamed sources, reports that the 9.7 inch iPad is already under production and that it will be unveiled by the beginning of the next quarter, if not by the end of this quarter. The sources also noted that a new version of the iPad Mini with a 7.9 inch display will also debut before the end of 2014.
With several rumours about the next iPad, the latest bullet point adding to the list is the anti-reflective coating that the company has introduced intending to make it easier to read the display. Analysts have expressed doubts that it might face production difficulties as applying it to a device with a big screen could be difficult causing a delay in production.
Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller has declined to comment on the rumours.
The upcoming device is also expected to pack an A8 Processor, Touch ID, and better cameras. However, there is no word about whether or not the iPad Mini will get the anti-reflective coating.
Although previous speculations pointed to a mid-October launch, Apple has scheduled a surprise event on September 9 and that’s when the much-awaited iPhone 6 is expected to be unveiled.
Notably, Apple has entered into a deal with IBM to supply iPads and iDevices to the corporate sector with productivity apps pre-loaded. Even with a lot of hype still lingering over iPad, the sales figures have dipped to 13.3 million units in the third quarter ended June 28.
