A newly developed app enables parents to lock their kids’ smartphone if in case they tend to ignore their calls.
Dubbed “Ignore No More”, the new app helps parents to gain control back over their child’s phone. Parents just need to install the app on their and their child’s phone and then tap the kid’s name and enter a four-digit code to lock their device.
It is to be noted that child whose smartphone gets locked with the new ‘Ignore No More’ app will have only two options left –either to call their parents back, or call for an emergency responder. They won’t be able to “text, surf the internet, play games or look at Facebook”, Sharon Standifird, the Texas-based app’s creator, said.
“What they can do is call the parent back to get the password to unlock their phone,” she added.
The app cannot be disabled from the child device and it is virtually impossible for the child to get the app removed from the device, the maker claimed.
“It’s is not about punishing the child — it’s a tool to try and correct a behaviour,” Ms Standifird said.
The app, which is already available for download on Android devices, will be available on iPhones from March.
