Motorola’s latest flagship smartphone ‘Moto X’ announced earlier this month in AT&T and Pure Edition variants will be available for pre-orders in the US starting today.
The smartphone maker announced its second-generation Moto X (AT&T) will be available at $99.99 on a 2-year contract, while the off-contract Moto X (Pure Edition) will be available for pre-order at $499.99.
In addition to the smartphones, Motorola is also offering the Moto Hint, a wireless earbud that allows remote control of a smartphone, as well as the Motorola Turbo Charger, which can charge the latest Moto handsets in 15 minutes, for pre-orders at $149.99 and $34.99 respectively.
Available in 16GB and 32GB storage variants, the new Moto X features a 5.2-inch (1080 x 1920 pixel) OLED display with a pixel density of 423 ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974-AC) processor, the handset will pack 2GB of RAM; 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.25 lens with 4K video recording and dual-LED ring flash; 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 2300mAh battery. Moto X runs on Android’s latest released version: the KitKat 4.4.4.
Motorola also announced that stock of smartwatch Moto 360, which was sold out immediately after it was made available in September 5, will be replenished on Tuesday.
All four products including Moto X (AT&T), Moto X (Pure Edition), Moto Hint, and Motorola Turbo Charger will be available for sale from 11am (CST) through motorola.com, as will the Moto 360. The handset maker said actual shipping date will be confirmed on check-out. UK launch of the handset is yet to be announced.
