Cullen is affirmed to have assassinated 29 patients during his 16-year career and is suspected of killing up to 400 people through various methods, including covertly medicating them with drugs such as insulin and digoxin. The Good Nurse, based on the book of the same name by Charles Graeber and set to star Eddie Redmayne as Cullen and Jessica Chastain as fellow nurse Amy Loughren, tells the story of how his crimes were finally discovered.

To describe the plot would be to overlook the point because this storyline could have been created into a plethora of films that were not as charming and funny as this one.
