Microsoft has rolled out a new ‘guide’ website to assist those who have switched or are thinking of making a switch from Apple’s Mac to Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3.
Redmond’s recently launched “Making the Switch” site covers the basics of using Windows, information on how to make a transition from a MacBook to a Surface Pro 3, content migration, and how to use a Surface Pro 3 with an iPhone, iCloud, and iTunes.
The website also offers several tips on how to perform basic functions on a Surface Pro 3, like right clicking, searching, accessing system settings, installing applications as well as step-by-step instructions for migrating documents, music, and more from Apple’s ecosystem to Microsoft’s ecosystem.
“We know moving these memories from one platform to another can be nerve-racking and learning new software can seem daunting,” the site explains.
“We want to make the transition as easy as possible. If you currently have a Mac and have questions about switching to Surface Pro 3 and Windows, we designed this site to help get you started.”
The site also covers a section devoted to viruses that note “most computers, including Macs, can get malware,” and details the protection tools included in Windows 8.1.
The new websites comes as part of Microsoft’s Surface-versus-MacBook Air campaign which also saw the launch of a “Winter Wonderland” holiday ad showcasing the Surface Pro 3’s versatility over the MacBook Air.
We expect Microsoft’s instruction guide will make the switch as painless as possible.
