Surface Mini, which was once said to launch alongside Surface Pro 3 in August but withheld, is in the rumours again this time reportedly for a launch just in time for the festive season, alongside Microsoft Surface 3 (the non-pro version of the tablet).
A tweet from TK Tech News claims that both the tablets will launch before Christmas. Microsoft Surface Pro 3, which was released in August this year garnered better reviews than its predecessor and was expected to bring with it the scaled down variant but to no effect.
It was said at that time that the company decided to pull it away from the launch event as it did not find unique features in the device and that it would be released later with improvised features.
Post launch of the Surface Pro 3, a few specifications of the Mini were rumoured including an 8 inch screen while some sources said it would come with a 10.6 inch screen. It was also said that it would be thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
Microsoft released Windows 10 OS recently and it is said to be available generally in 2015. If the rumours about the tablets turn true, they might not come with the OS but a new successor to them might be launched before the general launch of Windows 10 to emphasize the functionality and features of the improved OS, according to some sources.
The company has said that Windows 10 will be a unified OS working across all devices to give users the same experience.
