Microsoft has announced a scheduled roll out of a ‘big’ update for Xbox One on February 11, 2014, with battery life indicator and easy storage management as the major highlights. This is the first major system update for the Xbox One console, since its launch in November last year.
This update on February 11 includes –
- Overall improvements in the system stability and also quality of the Kinect voice commands.
- Gamers can check and manage the storage space, control the installation lineup, and manage the incoming installs, with separate My Games and My Apps.
- The new battery power indicator to be seen on the console’s home screen, similar to the indicator in Xbox 360, that lets gamers know the exact status of the batteries in their controller.
- Xbox one to support USB keyboards
Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer, Marc Whitten has kept the rest of the features under wraps stating that “these are just a few of the many updates we will be shipping on February 11. We’ll share more details on these and other upcoming features in the coming weeks. We have several surprises in store that we think you’ll love.”
The company has also disclosed plans for the next system update to be rolled out on March 4. This would be pretty much ahead of the gaming console’s Titanfall version launch on March 11 that is touted to be the biggest game launch of the year.
Microsoft claims the next system update on March 4 to contain new features and significant improvements to prepare the Xbox One for Titanfall, the must-have team based online multiplayer game for this generation.
