Microsoft has rolled out Windows 10 Mobile build 10149 to Windows Insiders through the Fast ring.
Build 10149 features Microsoft’s new Edge browser, some general UX improvements and tweaking, improvements to Cortana, a new button in the Action Center to turn the phone’s flash on so it works as a flashlight, an updated Photos app and various other fixes and updates.
The new build includes branding for Microsoft Edge, the new browser that the Redmond previously included under the Project Spartan code name. The browser now displays the address bar at the bottom of the screen where it belongs. The option to view websites in mobile view or desktop view is also included in this build as well. Edge has a new App ID along with the name, which means users will lose any favorites, cookies, history and saved Reading List items after upgrading from a previous build.
The build adds some general UX improvements and refinement such as fixing an issue that caused start screen tiles to appear blurry, and refining controls such as volume with updated visuals and icons. The overall responsiveness has also been improved within the OS.

Cortana has gained some improvements as well. Cortana’s Notebook is now in its final stage of development with a combined Profile and Settings experience. In addition, users will now be able to set up Quiet Hours in Cortana’s Notebook. The Actions Center has now been updated with a flashlight quick action.
The Photos app for Windows 10 has been updated to include general performance and reliability improvements, as well as new capabilities such as support animated GIFs (works on phones with 1GB of RAM or higher). The camera roll has also been updated. Automatic image upload is now handled by the OneDrive app, which means users can now easily save the images they take to Microsoft’s cloud storage service.
Windows 10 Mobile build 10149 can be downloaded by everyone in the Fast ring, including those who chose to remain on build 10080 rather than go back to Windows Phone 8.1 to get build 10136.
