Microsoft has showed off its new Xbox One headset and adapter and revealed that the console accessory will be available in the UK in ‘early March’.
To be available for £59.99, the Stereo Headset features a unidirectional microphone and over-the-ear speakers. The new headset will also ship with detachable adapter with readily accessible audio controls. However, users will have to shell out an additional £19.99 for the adapter.
“UK/Euro prices (ERP): Xbox One Stereo Headset is £59.99 / 69.99 Euro, Stereo Headset Adaptor is £19.99 / 22.99 Euro. http://majornelson.com/2014/02/11/xbox-one-stereo-headset-and-headset-adapter-details/” tweeted Graeme Boyd.
“We’ve all been there: You want to play Xbox One games while your family sleeps soundly just down the hall or your roommates study for their finals”, noted Microsoft on Xbox Wire.
“That’s why we’re so excited to announce the Xbox One Stereo Headset, which will allow fans to immerse themselves in their games and play at whatever volume they’d like.”
Currently the Xbox One’s digital optical output only delivers audio in stereo and those expecting true Dolby Digital 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound signal may be disappointed; however, support will be added in future.
