Microsoft newest Lumia offering ‘Lumia 640’ is currently up for pre-orders in the UK ahead of its April retail debut. The mid-range ‘Lumia 640’ and ‘Lumia 640 XL’ were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015.
Powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz processor, the Microsoft Lumia 640 features a 5-inch display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1GB of RAM, an 8GB internal memory with microSD support for additional memory of up to 128GB, a 2,500mAh battery and 30GB of free OneDrive cloud storage space.
There’s also a 0.9 megapixel front facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera on board. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE. The handset will ship with Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Denim out of the box, and is expected to receive an upgrade to Windows 10 as soon as the new OS version rolls out.
Available in, Black, White and Orange color options, the Lumia 640 LTE is currently up for pre-orders at Microsoft UK Store for a suggested retail price of £169.99 (including VAT). The handset will be available in the Store on 7 April.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL is expected to be officially launched sometime this month.
