Microsoft is sending out emails to Windows Phone customers with links to activate free 20GB free SkyDrive storage.
Those who decide to activate the free 20GB option will receive the enhanced storage for a year and users who have already received their emails have until January 31 to activate their free storage.
“To show our appreciation of Windows Phone customers, we are giving you an extra 20 GB of free SkyDrive storage for one year. This is in addition to the 7GB of free SkyDrive storage that all customers currently have,” reads the email.
With the introduction of Windows 8.1, SkyDrive has been knitted more tightly within the operating system and the company is already offering a whopping 200GB of free SkyDrive storage for two years to its Surface Pro 2 and Surface 2 customers.
