Microsoft is likely to announce its Enterprise Mobility Suite tomorrow alongside the highly anticipated Office for iPad claims new report.
The relatively new Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) is Microsoft’s solution for enterprise customers to help them centrally manage mobile devices including and not limited to Android smartphones and tablets, Apple iPhones and iPads and Window devices.
Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet, citing her unnamed sources revealed that Satya Nadella will be taking stage to announce both the EMS as well as Office for iPad.
Microsoft already has cross-platform device management to its enterprise customers through Windows Server, System Center and Windows Intune; however, the new EMS will enable the Windows 8 maker to pitch more Microsoft technologies for their bring your own device (BYOD) scenarios.
The March 27 event will see Nadella take centre stage to provide opening remarks on things “focused on the intersection of cloud and mobile computing”. The new EMS does fit the bill as does the Office for iPad.
Office for iPad is to feature Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote and will be more or less like its iPhone counterpart requiring users to have an Office 365 subscription.
