Microsoft has announced that its Azure Backup service now supports Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 systems allowing companies to keep their on-premises data safe in the cloud.
“Microsoft Azure Backup is a simple yet powerful data protection solution that enables you to take advantage of Microsoft Azure’s world class infrastructure to back up your on-premises data”, reads the description of Azure Backup.
Considering that the service is fairly new, Microsoft is claiming to offer only 99.99 per cent availability – possibly a way to acknowledge that the service is still in its infancy and could suffer from minor hiccups.
With the latest update, Microsoft Azure Backup now supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Server 2008. Further it also supports data sources of 850GB or more.
