Acer has unveiled two of the latest from its Liquid range of smartphones – Liquid E3 and Liquid Z4 – on Thursday. Both the devices will be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2014 to be held next week in Barcelona.
Powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, the mid-range handset, Liquid E3, will feature a 4.7-inch IPS display with a 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage with expansion support up to 32GB via microSD card, a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front shooter.
The smartphone is 8.9mm thick. While E3 will at present run Android 4.2.2, it is set to receive a software upgrade to Android KitKat 4.4 sometime later this year. The Acer Liquid E3 will come with connectivity options including 3G, EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and integrated GPS.
The lower end budget smartphone, Liquid Z4, will come with a 4-inch screen and 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. The handset will not feature a front facing camera. The smartphone will be powered by a dual-core 1.3GHz processor, 4GB internal storage, Wi-Fi, and GPS. The Liquid Z4 is 9.7mm thick, runs Android 4.2.2 and will have 3G, EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity options.
Both the handsets will be launched in the UK in April. Acer Liquid E3 will cost £165, while Liquid Z4 will be priced somewhere around £85.
