LinkedIn on Thursday launched its first standalone iOS dedicated job search mobile app dubbed LinkedIn Job Search, available for free download in the iTunes store.
The new app aims to help job seekers easily search and apply for jobs allowing them to find the most relevant jobs based on their title, location, company, industry, or seniority level preferences.
Announcing the app, LinkedIn product manager Daniel Ayele in a blog post said “Landing your dream job can feel like a full-time job. So we wanted to make it easier to find, research, and apply for your next opportunity by maximizing your “in between” moments. The next time you’re in a line for coffee or stuck waiting for a delayed flight, why not jump-start your job search from your phone.”
The app will feature four tabs at the bottom including search, discover, track and notifications. The search tab will let users find job openings that are most relevant to them. The discover tab will surface jobs that are popular among those who have a profile similar to the user.
Track tab will let users keep track of jobs they’ve viewed, saved and applied for. Notifications tab will alert users when jobs are about to expire or when a recruiter has opened their application, or when there are new jobs that meet their search criteria.
The company said the decision to create the app was taken when they noticed that more than 40 percent of LinkedIn users access through mobile devices.
LinkedIn has initially launched the Job Search app only in the United States, but has promised to expand support worldwide in multiple languages soon.
