Messaging chat app company Line has launched a new app called Whoscall that will allows its users to block unwanted calls.
Line acquired GogoLook last month and Whoscall app is a rebranded version of that. Currently only available to Android users, the Whoscall app looks up numbers from a 600 million records strong database that it has gathered from public sources like the internet and yellow pages. The app has been reportedly downloaded 6 million times.
The app effectively provides a caller ID feature and users can assign tags to numbers which they don’t find in their contact list. Further they can even share them with their friends and family and block them if they wish to.
“LINE whoscall boasts a database of over 600 million phone numbers including worldwide yellow pages, internet searches, and public databases, granting the world’s numbers at your fingertips”, notes the Whoscall website.
You can download the app from Google Play Store here.
