LG’s first Android wearable, the LG G Watch, will go on sale starting today in the US and 27 more countries around the world.
The company has officially announced that the wearable will be available in both brick and mortar facilities and online stores in 15 countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, South Korea, and UK.
There are 12 other countries where the G Watch will be available from retailers, including Brazil, Russia, Mexico, New Zealand and Singapore. LG has not revealed the other 7 countries in the list in its press release.
LG G Watch will be officially available with a price tag of $268 in Singapore starting July 26. The prices in other countries were quoted as $229 in the US, £159 in the UK, and AU$249 in Australia. The company said that prices for each country will be announced locally.
The Android Wear, first unveiled in March, was put up for a pre-order on Google Play India for a price of Rs. 14,999 just a few hours after the Keynote address was delivered in Google I/O 2014. Currently, the smartwatch is out of inventory on Google Play India.
LG G watch packs a 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with a 512MB RAM, sporting an always-on 1.65-inch IPS display with a resolution of 280 x 280. Its dust and water resistant body also features a 4GB of in-built storage and comes with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.
The wearable packing a 400mAh battery, measures 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95mm and tips the scales at 63 grams. The device comes in two different colours: Titan black and white gold and can be fitted with any 22mm strap to personalize it.
Google has recently dedicated an Android Wear app section on Google Play Store where companion apps for the wearable can be downloaded.
