G Flex, the first curved smartphone from LG, is all set to launch in Hong Kong on December 3.
Invitations for the launch event have already been sent out to the media claims Chinese blog 3G.cn. The Korean based smartphone maker is expected to announce its global shipping plans for its curvaceous handset on the same date.
France’s leading mobile phone carrier, Orange, is expected to have the phone in stock sometime next month indicating that European customers will also have access to the curved screen gadget starting December.
The G Flex handset is expected to get an official US launch beginning next year. All major US carriers are likely to offer the curved smartphone from January, though no exact release dates have been announced yet.
Looking at the price at which the device has been selling in Korea – 999,900 KRW ($942 USD), the unit is speculated to be priced at $299 or $249 in the states, after a signed two-year pact.
Powered by a powerful 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, the new curved smart phone from LG packs an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU), 2GB RAM and a huge 6-inch curved P-OLED capacitive touchscreen which supports HD 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution.
