Recent reports suggest LG could unveil G Flex 2 handset at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas between January 6 and January 9.
Although details about the specifications and features of LG’s alleged G FLex 2 are scarce at the moment, it is rumored that the smartphone will be a “major upgrade” over its predecessor.
Android Authority suggests that the alleged LG G Flex 2 will feature a high resolution plastic-based OLED screen packed inside a smaller body than its predecessor. The self-healing coating that debuted on the original G Flex will also reportedly make a comeback on its successor, in an improved form.
Full HD resolution is expected for the G Flex 2. The smartphone is also expected to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Furthermore, it is rumoured that the handset will be made flexible enough to face the bend gate test without causing any damage.
The original LG G Flex, which was launched in October 2013, featured a 6-inch flexible plastic OLED display which can bend significantly from top to bottom and then return to its original shape without sustaining any damages, a 13-megapixel camera, and a self-healing rear that protected against scrapes and scratches.
As CES 2015 is just a month away, we won’t have to wait for too long to know more about the LG G Flex successor.
