LG has announced Pocket Photo 2 mobile printer just ahead of International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas starting January 7, 2014.
Pocket Photo 2 is a follow up of LG Pocket Photo which was launched earlier this year. The new pocket printer, one of the smallest in the market, features a slimmer design; NFC and Bluetooth connectivity; and is iOS and Android compatible. It allows users to print 5.1 x 7.6cm (2 x 3 inch) pictures directly from their smartphone and tablets. Users will be required to install free Pocket Photo editing app on their smartphones and tablets.
LG has used ZINK technology in Pocket Photo 2 thereby taking off the ‘cost’ burden of ink cartridges, ribbons or toner. Utilising necessary heat, ZINK activates the necessary colour-forming chemistry embedded in each sheet of paper. ZINK printed photos produce less smearing, while preserving the images for longer.
Pocket Photo 2 is already available in China in pink, jewel white and lime yellow colours. International availability may be announced at CES.
