LG has announced an all new L Series III range of budget friendly smartphones including L90, L70 and L40 which will be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Conference later this month in Barcelona, Spain. All the three handsets will run Android 4.4 KitKat and will include 1.2Ghz dual-core processors.
President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Dr Jong-seok Park, said: “In addition to inheriting the refined design aesthetic that is synonymous with LG’s premium devices, the L Series III provides an array of user benefits that extend far beyond a simple upgrade.”
The L90 will sport a 4.7-inch qHD display with 960 x 540 resolution and will feature 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, 1GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera, packs a large 2,540 mAh battery and supports 3G (HSPA+”>HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps) connectivity.
The L70 will feature a 4.5-inch IPS display with 800 x 400 pixel resolution. The handset will also feature 4GB of internal storage, 1GB RAM, 5 or an 8-megapixel camera depending on the market. and 3G (HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps) connectivity.
Lastly, LG L40, the cheapest among the three, will have a 3.5-inch 480 x 320p display, a 3-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 1700 mAh or 1540 mAh removable battery depending on the market, and 3G (HSPA+ upto 14.4Mbps) connectivity.
LG has announced that all the three handsets will have Quick Window smart covers. The Quick Window cover is a flip cover case that protects the smartphone covering both the screen and the rear and allows users to see the date and time on the screen without opening the case. The covers will be available in three different colors.
LG is expected to share information about the prices and availability of the smartphones at MWC 2014.
