While FIFA 16 continues to lead the charts, it isn’t as exciting as the launch and first week performance of ‘Lego Dimensions’, which landed second spot on UK gaming charts on debut.
The game managed to surpass week 1 sales of both ‘Disney Infinity 3.0’ & ‘Skylanders Superchargers’ with it being the third best launch week, behind both ‘Skylanders Giants’ and Skylanders Swap Force’.
FIFA 16 retained its top spot despite a decline of 74 per cent sales as compared to its first week. Take 2 managed to gain yet another top 3 spot with the launch of its NBA 2K16. Take 2 has had a bumper launch considering that NBA 2K16’s week 1 sales are 53 per cent higher than last year’s entry, which makes this week’s No3 the best week 1 seller in the series to date.
Two new entrants in top 3 pushed last week’s second and third to fourth and first respectively. The titles being Destiny: The Taken King and Foroza Motrosport 6.
Nintendo’s 3DS exclusive ‘Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer’ also makes its mark at No6. The latest entry in the series sees the addition of collectible amiibo cards which unlock in game content.
Outside of the Top 10, Activision’s ‘Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5’ makes a return to the chart at No12. The latest addition to the series is developed by Robomodo who took on ‘Tony Hawk Shred’ back in 2010.
