Nokia Normandy aka Nokia X Android smartphone won’t support Google Play service – at least that’s what a new leak from prolific leakster @evleaks claims.
According to @evleaks, Nokia X will have a dual-core Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1GHz, 4-inch WVGA screen, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and support for microSD card, 5-megapixel rear camera, 1500mAh battery, and dual-SIM capability.
If we compare these specifications with those that surfaced on Vietnam’s largest online retailer a couple of days back, they are mostly the same. However, there is a key difference. In the listing on Vietnamese retailer’s website, Nokia X was shown as supporting Google Play services while the one from @evleaks claims that Nokia Nokia X will support Nokia Store + 3rd party apps.
Another thing that is worth noticing from the leaks so far is that Nokia seems to have modified the Android a great deal to match the look and feel of Windows Phone and if that’s the case it won’t be too far-fetched to assume that its main focus is to promote services from its own pool and that of Windows rather than Google’s.
Nokia has remained tight lipped about Nokia X and there has been no official statement about the handset as yet.
In related Nokia news, the Finnish company is planning to unveil a range of Windows Phone 8.1 devices including Lumia 1820, Lumia 1525, Lumia 1520 Mini at MWC 2014.
