Jawbone, on Tuesday, unveiled two new activity trackers dubbed the UP3 and the UP Move.
The highlight of the launch was the higher-end UP3 tracker which Jawbone claims has been equipped with a slew of new and interesting features including an accelerometer, temperature sensors as well as sensors which can measure bioimpedance which includes heart rate and hydration levels.
The UP3 is Jawbone’s slimmest and the most advanced tracker ever. The wearable will offer detailed information about the wearer’s sleep stages; will make them have a better understanding of their sleep quality and will also offer suggestion on how to improve it. The device is also capable of measuring resting heart rate and tells the difference between light, deep and REM sleep.
“Our advanced, multi-sensor platform delivers a huge amount of new health data, backed by our smart algorithms and our highly personalized Smart Coach system”, says Jawbone’s Travis Bogard.
“And because the technology is fully updateable, we’re able to unveil great new features and experiences in the coming months”.
Priced at £150, the UP3 is waterproof up to depths of 10m (33ft), and offers up to seven days’ battery life between charges. The UP3 is slated to go on sale sometime later this year.
Jawbone also launched the UP Move which is claimed to be as the ‘beginner’s tracker.’ The new activity tracker can be easily clipped to clothing or snapped into a wristband-like accessory. The small device has been equipped with tiny sensors to track wearers’ steps, calories and workouts, as well as their sleep cycle. The device also offers some fitness coaching tips too.
‘Up Move by Jawbone is a fun, easy way to track activity and at JUST £39.99, it’s a great option for anyone at the beginning of a fitness or weight loss journey,’ said Bogard.
The UP Move runs off a single watch battery which promises a full six months of service before needing to be replaced. The £39.99 activity tracker is available for pre-order now, and will begin shipping sometime later this month.
